The River Park Community

There are several high-rated public and private schools in River Park, such as Caleb Greenwood Elementary School that caters to grades K-6. Private schools that teach students from pre-K through grade 8 include Sacred Heart Parish School in East Sacramento, St. Francis Elementary in Midtown, Courtyard Private School in Midtown, and St. Ignatius Parish School in Arden-Arcade. 


There are no universities explicitly located in Sacramento's Riverpark neighborhood. However, several universities, including California State University, University of California, Sacramento City College, Drexel University Sacramento, University of Phoenix, and Sacramento Valley Campus, are located in the greater Sacramento area.

The area is known for its proximity to the Sacramento River, parks, and biking and walking trails. River Park real estate is a mixture of single-family homes, townhomes, and apartments.

River Park boasts of many unique and charming features. There are winding streets with trees on both sides, homes on the river, and access to the American River Parkway. 


Most homes are within walking distance of Glenn Hall Park where families can spend their weekends playing baseball, softball, volleyball, tennis, and soccer all year long. The levee is also a great place to spend a day outside doing things like walking your dog, watching wildlife, having a picnic, fishing, jogging, or tubing down the river.

The neighborhood is compact and quiet with a few nearby places to go out at night, mostly on Elvas Avenue. There are a few sports bars, a winery, and a few local pubs. Most people leave their neighborhood when they want a more exciting night out. The Pacha Coffee Shop serves excellent coffee. You can go to the Orphan Breakfast House if you prefer brunch. Other local favorites include Gordito Burrito, Chipotle Mexican Grill, and Nopalitos for tacos, and Dad's on Folsom, Burger Patch, and The Habit Burger Grill for burgers.
